Unconditional Love & Other Stories of Myth - A Compilation (:

Humans are quite the species. So many complex emotions, complex thoughts; complex workings which vex even the most intelligent of our kind. You loving someone does not mean you’ll be loved back in return. but you’ll always expect something in return. Always. Unconditional love is but a myth. A myth spun by the most imaginative of humans. One way or the other, motherly love, brotherly love, or even love between 2 perfect soul mates, neither could yield unconditional love. You ALWAYS expect something, no matter how small.
Albeit like the principle of energy conservation (I’m an engineer, sue me :P), love cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be transferred or converted into another form. You giving something would require something back in return, no matter what form. Always. We’re human, and no matter what people say, we’re selfish beings.
Speaking of which, I’ve always had an inkling that love was all about the exchange of love between 2 people. A reciprocative action, if you might call it. but sometimes, that just isn’t possible. Is it?
Loving someone might not always yield a return of that aforementioned love. Its sad, I know. but sometimes the only love is just to GIVE love, but not getting any in return (sad, but I’m pretty sure most of us, if not all, has gone through that :P), but do note. It is NOT unconditional. It still goes somewhere. Always hoping for some love in return; always wishing and hoping that maybe one day you’ll be together with that someone. Until that hope and wish just fades over time, and you pull that love away. Why waste that love? Once again, I guess its just human, to continue wanting things even though you know yourself its just close to impossible. but it doesn’t hurt to try now, does it?
but when you’re done, do give that love to someone who WANTS that love. Who would make full use of it; and would give you that love in return. At least that’s what I think.
Man, what a world we’re living in huh? Beings so similar on a molecular level, yet so fundamentally different on the inside. Each and every one of us.
