Of Lions, Dilemmas and Encounters of the Musical Kind.

Its been a pretty interesting year so far. For one…the 2nd coming of the golden age of Singapore soccer is approaching!

The latest season of the Tiger Cup has been pretty eventful, in my opinion. Singapore has never lost a match, and furthermore each and every match has been a very professional affair (at least for Singapore, heh.) Tactics used by our coach had been flawless so far, the defending had been really solid, and the tackles made by our players so precise the opposition mostly never gets struck down. How amazing is THAT? I remembered back in the days of the Malaysia Cup. I NEVER missed any local match played back when we were still in the league. My father, me and my cousins were ALL die-hard fans of the local soccer scene. Our whole group of around 10, with our whole cooler filled to the brim with cool drinks and hotdog/tuna/egg sandwiches, we would join the the crowd of about 50,000 in EVERYTHING!

The ‘Kallang Wave’, where everyone just stands up at the appropriate moment around the stadium, making a seeming ‘wave’ passing through the spectators in the stadium. The cheers of ‘Ole’ around the stadium. Shouts of ‘Kelong!’ (biased) to the referee after any decisions we ‘felt’ were wrong (which were basically all the decisions which were not in our favour, heh). Those were the BEST times of my life. The atmosphere was so ELECTRIC! You just can’t help but BE part of the atmosphere. Guess what? The 2nd leg of the Tiger Cup finals, i.e. the final of the finals, is gonna be held in the National Stadium, and I’M GONNA BE THERE! I’m really wishing the atmosphere’s gonna be revived back from the ashes of the Malaysia Cup days. The Lions shall ROAR ONCE AGAIN! ^ - ^

Mmmm. And the registration for the Singapore Biathlon 2005 has opened! My latest fastest lap time for a 3KM swim is 53:30. Now since I’m a first time Biathlon registrant, I would have to go for a 1.5KM trial swim and clock a time of less than 40 mins in order to qualify for a spot. I think I can…manage that. Muahahaha. The whole event is a 1.5KM swim and a 10KM jog, and its in March. I should be able to train up in time. Wish me the best of luck! Oh, and am also takin’ part in the my college’s ‘Poly 50′. An event where 10 people run a preset route around school 50 times. Its gonna be cool! Wish me luck for that too! :D

Also! I got myself Ken Hirai and Ayumi Hamasaki’s latest albums! Sadly, though Ken Hirai is my favourite of the 2, Ayumi’s sounds better this time. Lots of pseudo-rock and pop beats. Quite a change from her previous mostly ballad-ish sounding songs. Preferred Ken’s previous concept album, Ken’s Bar. So Jazzy! Loved it to bits! I’m a sucker for Jazz, so sue me. Oh, and in a not-so-long-time ago (like 2 weeks before this), got myself this CD called ‘Tokyo Lounge’. Full of relaxing house beats, it was MARVELLOUS! Will put a sample up soon.

Also while browsing for that CD, heard this really soulful, sexy voice on the main speakers. Matt Dusk, this new and upcoming Jazz artiste from Germany. His voice is really…well. It just GRABS you and demands your full attention everytime you listen to it. Its THAT good! I actually bought it the moment I listened to it. And I didn’t regret it. AT ALL! GO GET IT RIGHT NOW! 100% RECOMMENDED! :D

Now, onto more solemn things. To that certain someone, I’m really sorry. To have caused all those tears. Whether knowingly or unknowingly, I really am. Though present world situations disagree…maybe someday…

Here’s a preview of the logo I made for my future ‘band’.

Me and Ash (one of my friends) have this plan of making this band one day, but we have had to put in on hold due to him being busy with the Army and me being in school and all. We already did a few original Japanese song recordings..so. Lets hope it works out eventually. Heh.

A New Year Cometh….

Filed under: — Reizou Tachikawa @ 2:11 am

Its a new year. 2005 baby! I don’t know whether to cry or whatever. Its a little depressing, I guess. Years just pass you by, just like that. Like THAT. I guess I’m not the only one with those sentiments. Most, if not all of us will ask ourselves like, what did we achieve the past year? I mean, really? Its like, time just passes you by. You have so many hopes and dreams; so many things you just want to DO. You keep procrastinating. and procrastinating. and suddenly, poof, you’re 40. I just..don’t want to regret. Regret is a word best left in the dictionary. Or in the words of some other guy OTHER than you. lol.

Yeah, well, I guess I’m just afraid. Who isn’t? I’m human too. Just that, I wanted to do so many things. So many things. Not that I can’t say that I haven’t achieved..anything. Lets see. I managed to:

Improve my academic grades quite significantly, increased my physical fitness by 20-30 fold than the previous year, improved quite a lot on my piano (in my really really really humble opinion..:P ), watched a lot of movies I wanted to watch, improved my swimming by more than 10-fold, lost quite a lot off weight, went for a makeover (hair -> clothing -> personality, heh. At least I THINK I did. That’s all that matters right? :P), made a best friend (YAY! ^ - ^) and I got PES ‘A’ for my medical!

I think most of us look to the big things a little too much. We equate success with those big things only. What about those small things? You know, stuff like giving your own seat up to someone, or maybe spending time with your family and friends, or even just making someone happy! We should give ourselves a small pat every day! With every day passed, we’ve evolved as an individual, one way or the other! Ah. My new year’s resolution!…, well at least in addition to the following:

My 10 New Year’s Resolutions for 2005

1) Going for REAL Piano lessons. Grade 1 here I come!
2) Build up my muscles. Like. MAJOR muscle building.
3) Joining the Singapore Biathlon 2005. (Pretty sure I’ll be doing it..)
4) Re-enrolling myself in Japanese classes. (Yo Aaron, you still on for it dude? :D )
5) Be able to do at LEAST 5 pull-ups before NS. Lol.
6) Make more friends/ Not to loose any friends. Heh. ^ - ^;
7) Go to a nice show at the Esplanade. Hopefully something musical or comedic. *hint hint*
8) Getting better grades for my final semester. All the way to the end baby!
9) Get myself into either the Commandos or the Officer Cadet School. Something meaningful while serving NS.
10) Be a better person in general. I don’t want to be so negative all the time. More positivity for me!

Well, thats it for me. My new year’s Blog post. Once again, wishing everyone a happy new year’s!

Oooooooh one final thing! A purikura! Check it out! Took it on the eve of new year’s! ^ - ^;
