View of the Lake..*sigh*

by Reizou Tachikawa on Apr.29, 2004, under General

You know what guys? Nothing beats the smell of seawater at 12:30 in the morning. You know, that nice fresh scent you get when go for a walk by the seaside in the morning? I just LOVE that smell. Its sooo refreshing. I have to admit that I have this weird routine I keep to every night. Before locking up the main doors (I’m usually the last person up, so I have the *ahem* responsibility of doing so), I put on my slippers, go to the common balcony on my level, and just stare out into the lake about 20 metres away from my apartment block. Just to distress, recap the going-ons for the day, and to think of all the chances missed. *sigh* Heh heh. And tonight it just happened to have rained pretty heavily. Its nice and breezy, and that nice smell just wafts into your nose whilst you are overlooking the lake. Life is just so perfect…

So anyway, just ignore my previous post, lol. Ah today’s paper was pretty much a done deal. 15 marks lost with a confidence percentage of another + – 15 marks for errors. Should be able to scrape by wit’ a B babyyyy. Hehe. Another 2 more papers to go, Fluid Mechanics ‘B’ and Engineering Mathematics II B. Next paper: Monday. I should be prepared by then. Wish me luck guys ^ . ^

Kanashii ze..

by Reizou Tachikawa on Apr.28, 2004, under General

I’m not a perfect person
As many things I wish I didn’t do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know
I’ve found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you..

Oh man. I love this song. It’s so…meaningful. ; _ ; *sigh*. No, seriously, minus all the ‘hurting you’ parts. *sigh* Why must life be so sad? Why must people revel in sadness? Its in-built into us I guess…but then. DAMMIT! It just reminds me of…relationships. I’m 18 for goodness sakes. Where is my girlfriend?! *Checks my pockets*. Nope, nothing there. Hehe. Ok, lameness aside…I don’t know just what to say. I’ll probably just die alone. *sighs again*

So anywayz, yeah. Chemical Reaction Engineering wasn’t too bad. Lets hope tomorrow’s Thermodynamics would be nicer. Since the paper’s in the morning, I’ll probably like, go for a swim in the afternoon and slack the rest of the day. My next paper is like, 5 days away. So. A little R&R ain’t hurt nobody before right? Lol. A’ight. Signing out~.

Muahaahaha. Koooool.

by Reizou Tachikawa on Apr.26, 2004, under General

A’right man. Its that time again! Lol, sorry dudes and dudettes, been very busy with exam revisions. The semestral finals are here! Thank god I only have like 4 papers. In a ‘certain’ particular order, they are: Chemical Reaction Engineering, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics ‘B’ and Engineering Math IIB! Phew. I think I’m gonna post short updates when I get a chance, pretty much commenting on some stuff I encountered, but enough about that. Into the nice squiggly stuff aye?

Hmmmm, ya’ll know about that DJ Hunt thing goin on? The Perfect 10 98.7 FM thing. Guess what….Grace went for it! Yeah, she didn’t post it on HER blog, I wonder why..hmmm… *wonders*. So anyway, we went there like, at 10 in the morning, and while waiting for her to decide if she’s gonna go for it, we walked around Plaza Singapura. The Yamaha music shop…the arcade..(guess who’s idea was this? Anyone who guesses this right gets a cooky! I mean, cookie.., but whatever.) Then we had breakfast at Starbucks. I mean like, wow! I’ve never had breakfast at Starbucks before! It was just how I envisioned it to be! People were friendly, they had these cool muffin trays where you could choose from quite a variety of muffins (duh, lol). Heck, we even met Daniel Ong and Carrie Chong from Perfect 10(!) , havin’ breakfast, lol.

So anywayz, after that whole classy coffee drinking thing, Grace decided to go for it. Queued for like, 3 hours. In the mean time, I enjoyed the show. Some people were soooo funny! Some were cool, some were downright awful, but it was a nice audition in all. Grace didn’t make it though, that’s a shame, but she got that radio card and that perfect 10 T-shirt she always wanted, so that’s cool.

Mmmm, so yeah. Its been quite a while since I continued that CGOTD column, and here it is! Back once again, ladies and gentlemen! And today’s candidate is….that girl in….my school’s admin office! Muahaha. I was there to collect my new admin card (personally, I’m blaming it on the lousy quality of the plastic veneers they used, but that’s just me. It also cost me 10 bucks. Urgh.) To those who know, she’s in the admission office at T1A. She’s Malay and I think she’s working part time there, she looked pretty young. I’m guessing that she’s awaiting admission into some tertiary educational institution. Yeah, she looked pretty cute to me, so that must be good. Lool. Shoulder length hair..hmmm. That’s all I can remember again. Argh crap. I suck at remembering facial features. Bleagh. I should put more focus in remembering their facial features in the future, lol.

Ok, that’s all folks, I gotta go sleeeepaaaaa. My first paper’s tomorrow at 2pm. Wish me luck guys! Hehe. Peace out!

Trains & Swiss Knives. Hmm..

by Reizou Tachikawa on Apr.15, 2004, under General

Oh man. Can’t … take … this anymore. You know what? Everywhere I turn. EVERYWHERE I turn, I see couples. Cuddling. Holding hands. Whispering sweet nothings. Tell ya guys what. The next time I see another couple doing them couple things, I swear I’m gonna take this Swiss Army Knife I have here and is personally gonna go Battle Royale on their asses. (Battle Royale as in, the Japanese movie, not the wrestling one…). Man! I mean come on, of course, I understand you guys out there are pretty keen on showing your affections, but come ON! Do it, um, like…NOT in the MRT carriages and stuff. Ok, I might be exaggerating a little, but screw it man.

All this love around me is making me screwy. As in, for real. The fact that I’m friggin’ NOT attached, my friends in school are segregating stuff based on those who’ve had a relationship and those who’ve had not (you know who you are, Mr. Black General. Or whatever they call you. LOL), and with the examinations around the corner, it DOESN’T help. At all. Heck, now I’m virtually pumping 4 hours MINIMUM, studying in the school library. Heck, even then, trying to submerge myself in books doesn’t come easy. Distractions. Darn couples *unsheathes swiss army knife* < - heck, do you even do that with swiss army knives? Flick and stab, right? ;) . And girls. They're everywhere. Believe me when I say that they are EVERYWHERE. Especially when the relatively generic (good word, hehe) hot-cute girls come pushin' through the doors. bleagh. Even when I sit AWAY from doors, they always seem to be a 'side glance' item, passing by. Lol. So yeah. How do I solve this? a) Try to drown out my surroundings by listening to loud music, at which presently I'm attempting to do; or b) Get myself a distraction of my very own, if you know what I mean *nudge nudge* ;) .

NO! I will NOT bow down to pressure from cute girls OR peer pressure. Die demons DIE! MUAHAHAHAHA! Uh. Oook. So enough of my rants. So yeah. Many people have been a) staring, b) enquiring about my goggle marks on both sides of my head. They are what they are exactly: goggle marks. I've been stepping up on my swimming regiment these past few weeks, as I've said in my last post, and the only free time I could find are on afternoons, before my book cramming sessions in the library. Heck, its a lot easier to study after a nice 30 lap swim. Feels refreshing, in a way. and yes. its hot. As a result, I get a very nice tan. To make myself look more like my racial classification in my Identity card, rather than a Chinese, as before. Not that its bad to look like my ancestors, but heck, you have to be politically correct nowadays. You don't know what you can come across lol. And no. I DON’T look cute with goggle marks, on the contrary to comments some people made. – __ – ;

Yeah so one last thing. Some of you might have noticed, I tend to behave strangely in MRT trains. Call it childishness, but heck I love staring out the train windows. Whenever someone moves out of their door spots, I will immediately move in, sometimes so suddenly, it makes me look…umm…wierd. Nothing like looking out as life passes you by. Poeticism? Maybe. But its such a good way to pass the time whilst in a long train ride. Observing life; in fast motion. Its a unique experience. You guys should try it one of these days. Refreshing. Gives you time to gather your thoughts.

Cute girl of the day? MAN its been a blur between reality and fantasy this past week. Heck, all of the cute girls I’ve seen could’a just been a figment of my superactive imagination (i.e. superimposing my ideal cute girl ideals onto live human subjects. Is that even possible? Lol). Oh well, one thing is for sure, that ‘girl whom isn’t in my present class, but I see her everyday’ is MY definition of cuteness. ^ – ^;; Haha.

P.S. And for the last time, to those who have been asking me if I’ve been using eyelash thingies, for god’s sake, NO DAMMIT. Its naturally this long. And yes I’m straight, thank you very much for caring. Lol.

At Long Last…

by Reizou Tachikawa on Apr.09, 2004, under General

At long last, I’ve managed to log into my own clickin’ blog. Stupid login page. Bleagh.

So yeah, its been a while since I updated me blog. A nicer interface now. How does it look guys? Comments/ Insults/ Critiques are welcome. So what’s new in my life? Well, I lost about 1.5kgs this past week. LOL! That’s some good progress. A 20 lap swim on Tuesday, a 4 km jog on Wednesday, topped off with a 30 lap swim yesterday. Life is great. Speaking of which, would anyone like to join me for a swim on Saturday? I’m open to pool suggestions. Lol.

Oh yeah, I went to that Apollo 13 IMAX theatre thing on Wednesday with Grace. (those 2 *ahem* people who backed out on us, you bastards! Nah. Kidding. You know I love ya guys. Hahaa.) It was quite an interesting experience. size of the screen! Too bad it wasn’t in 3D, if not, whoaaaaa. So anywayz, I thought I’d watched Apollo 13 previously, turns out I had never seen it in my entire life, lol. Um, yeah, great movie in all. One of them great happy-ending movies. Love em. Lol.

Yeah, so would anyone like to watch the action-comedy Hellboy wit’ me? Or maybe even Starsky & Hutch? Give me a call and we’ll work out the details aye?

So, yeah. Cute Girl of the Day? Wait. A min. Let me address something. No, cute girls and guys are NOT all there is to life. Yes Grace, you heard it direct from the mouth of the guy with the ‘cute girl knee weakness terminal illness’ thing. Well, lets see.

1) I don’t go around searching for cute girls. I happen to stumble upon them. By chance!. That’s all there is to it. Not like, ‘Oh crud! I have no entry for my column! I’ll have to scout for a cute girl right now! *runs out the door*’. NO. It doesnt work that way. Laugh out loud!

2) Cute girls just makes your life worth livin’, even for that split second when you just happen to have caught a glimpse of the girl. Why? You know you’re straight and not ‘leaning’ / ‘bending’ to the ‘dark side’. Keeps your orientation in check. Hahhaaaa.

3) Superficiality? Superficialism? Well, like it or not, no matter what religion you belong to, devout or not, its just human nature to ‘check-out’ the opposite sex. Its been proven by studies that you stay healthy by doing so. ‘All that matters is what’s on the inside’. Yes, that is true, but no matter what anyone says, the outside matters too. A lot. Those who say otherwise are hypocrites. ;) . Well, as for categorizing them into ‘cute’, ‘not cute’ and ‘average’, thats…how I let it out. From years of oppression. Of not being able to speak out. Not being able to categorize them people from the opposite sex. Of not acknowledging the other side.. *sigh*. Oh well.. That’s all I have.

Ah. Now. CGOTD. Heh heh. Well, I saw her on Wednesday, on the LRT train back. She was wearing this green skirt and white shirted uniform. I’m thinking Raffles Junior College or Kranji Secondary School. Average height.with the innocent-cute look and hair a little longer than shoulder length, tied. And, she got down the same station as me! What a coincidence! Well, till we meet again, cute one. :P

The Big Apollo Fish!

by Reizou Tachikawa on Apr.09, 2004, under General

Ahhhh. Man. There she was, with her cute face again! Ah. That smile and laughter! It just melts your ears just listening to the way she laughs. and her cutesy actions! Mweeeee~ ^ – ^; Nothing brightens up your day like how her actions do. (T – T); Who am I talking about? Its kinda obvious ain’t it. That certain person whom I see everyday. Ah well. Don’t think I’m worthy of her. Heck, I’m not worthy for anyone. *sob sob* (X_x)

Yeap. So anyways, went to see Big Fish another time, but this time with the Grace. —–>
I didn’t mind spending 6.50 on another rerun of the movie. ‘Why?, you may ask.

1) It was a mixture of greatness! I just loved the ending. Heck. I still do! It just gives you a warm fuzzy feeling inside. I shed tears at the ending. Again. NO I AM NOT A SISSY. It was just…too beautiful and perfect!

2) It was with our very own cute girl numero uno Grace! Laugh out loud! Hahaha. (In case you didn’t notice, I was in *slash* sarcastic mode there. Refer to a comment I made in one of my previous posts. )

Sooo yeah. Great movie. We *gasp* -NEARLY- went for the Apollo 13 IMAX show immediately AFTER Big Fish! Is she mad or what?! Lolll. So yeah, we postponed the Apollo 13 IMAX show till next week. Would anyone care to join us? Its a great show! Imagine watching a movie in TOTAL surround sound and on a screen which just happens to be at a towering 8 stories high! Yes ladies and gentleman! And for a limited time only you, yes YOU! can get this limited edition carving knife, ABBSSOOOLUTELYYY FREEEE! Muahaha…whoa. What happened?

Yeah, so anyway….once again no CGOTD column. Sucks doesn’t it? LOWWWWW QUALITYYYY Loooool! I’ll just give the honors this time to the girl mentioned at the beginning of the post. Awwwww. Cutey pie. *melts*.

Art. In Feeling.

by Reizou Tachikawa on Apr.09, 2004, under General

Meow
An Original Piece by Tachikawa.

So I’m like, expressing all my feelings in Art now. I don’t know why all of a sudden, I had this urge to draw. An embodiment of myself perhaps? Heh heh. No ‘Cute Girl of the Day’ column again. Sorry guys (and a girl), nothing interesting the past few days. Did quality control just dip 40% or what?! Lol.

I leave thou with a quote from Daniel Beddingfield’s If You’re Not The One:

‘I don’t wanna run away but I can’t take it, I dont understand. If I’m not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am. Is there any way that I could stay in your arms…’

I can promise to share
All my dreams I will dare
You set my heart racing when you get next to me
Still I don’t think you care…
Should I wait for your love…
Or I’m waiting in vain…
Somebody help me cause I’m falling
Head over heels in love again

Jamiroquai – Falling

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! *takes a real deep breath*

I think I’m love sick. As once a wise man said; ‘When one is 18, it is the best time to engage in a relationship’. Another friend of another wise man also said ‘WTF? You’re 18 and still single?’. Yeah. Wise men indeed. I think I need some anti-depressants right now…like..Prozac..or maybe…umm..

Its amazing how low I can fall down to. Like, real low. That girl in the club, that girl in the class that girl in my past. That was a blast i need to fast to eat and last and climb a mast. LOL! Sorry. Got carried away there..yeah. Guess what? I think I’ll end here. I need. To. Think. (and take some paracetemol. I’m…sick..urgh)

Mmmmm. Tastes like….Socrates?!

by Reizou Tachikawa on Apr.09, 2004, under General

Ahaaaaa. Ignore my previous post. I don’t know what in the WORLD I was thinking. The post was virtually incoherent. at all. Lol.

So anyway, I had a pretty interesting day today. It was filled with…’deep thought’ and ‘philosophical thinking’. Kinda. Ya know? Like a layer of ‘Socrates’ sponge cake filled with ‘Plato’ cream. Ok, nevermindLool.

Mmmm. Yeah. So, I kinda like, went to school today? Like, on this train, and it was like, light. Like, totally. Dude! Where’s my car! Uhm….

So, anyway. Was on this train to school this mornin’. An LRT one. I was standing, as usual. There were a group of nursery school children sitting on the front portion of the train. It was pretty apparent that it was a field trip. Now, what struck me was this: Their child-like abandonment (Like duh, they ARE children after all. Wait, hear me out.) You know? The whole train was seemingly in a deep silent thought when the kids were smiling, playing around, making noise, laughing, singing songs. Everyone was in contemplation. Like everyone was respecting the joy and laughter filling up the train. You don’t get to experience this everyday. The happiness so untouched by society’s strong materialistic perceptions, moral boundaries, everything. It was the simplest joy in life. It was pure heaven. It virtually made my day.

Nothing like the simpler joys in life, aye? Yeap. Nothin like it.

Also, on my way back, from the MRT train I was on, I was observing the masses of people walking about below me, without much regard to what was going on around them. Admittedly, I am usually one of them. Walking along, going about their businesses, let it be heading for home or to the food place nearby. No one stopped to observe their surroundings. The beauty of it all. Just sitting down, enjoying some bread while watching people walk past you, talking to their friends, on their cellphones or just listening to music. Just observing, imagining what might be going through their minds, where they might be heading or just enjoy the surroundings.

I did just that, 2 days ago, in one of the most bustling areas in Singapore; Raffle Place Shopping Centre, located in the Central Business District. It was much like the Ginza district in Japan, people from all walks of life, but just a little less variety. I sat there for nearly an hour, eating some bread while just, observing people going about their businesses. Somehow I felt a sense of inner-peace. It was a very refreshing breath of air after a long time spent in the boiler room (An analogy, for all you analogically-challenged people out there, lol). Moral of the story? Sometimes in life, you should just stop and smell the roses, water the plants, and maybe observe a little general human interaction. Ahhhhh refreshinnnnn’.

Mmmmm. The Cute Girl of the Day part of the post. Sorry dudes and dudettes, none today. No one especially caught my eye. That sucked. Lol. Well, just tune in next time! I’m pretty sure there’ll be something for all you cute girl lovers out there! (Including you Grace! You kept bugging me at Macdonalds yesterday about this CGOTD thing. You and your lesbotic tendencies! Laugh out loud! You better stay tuned for the next post! Hahahaha) -> I’m soooo gonna be dead. LOL! But what the heck, I had my fun! Hahahahahahahaha.

A Thought Exercise?. Hmmmm.

by Reizou Tachikawa on Apr.09, 2004, under General

Ah, a day well spent. Slacking. Doing nothing. Fruitful. At all. Yay. People just need to chill. They can’t stand doing nothing at all. For a day. That’s how stressed up people are nowadays. Just take it easy. Life is short. Stop. Take a short breather. When was the last time you did NOTHING and didn’t feel guilty. at all.? Pretty sure it was a pretty long time ago. Do that. Again. Lose all the strings society has tied onto thou. You’ll be amazed at how the simplest things in life are life’s lost pleasures.

So, anyway, yeah. All 3 tests are OVER. It was a pretty good run, if I should say so myself. I deserve a pat on the back. So there *pat pat*. Mmmm.

Ah, so. Thus, we come to the topic of; relationships. Females. Can’t live without them now, can we? Its a fact of our lives; the mental, emotional, physical and biological aspects of life. We rely on them so much! It’s only natural that we rely on that special someone to burden them with some, if not all, of the above criterions of life. Humans are naturally selfish by nature, and that is just one of the many examples of that trait; burden / reliance.

Ok, back to topic. Some people feel guilty and pressured when they are not in a relationships. Burdens the society can put on you. *sigh*. Hey, its part and parcel of BEING in a society. Both the positive AND the negative aspects; they come in one, easy to eat package. Yeah. Pressure. Its deep. Can it be deep enough to induce you to like someone? Pressure does things to people. Need a girlfriend?

‘Hey! That girl from next door suddenly looks cute!’.

Yeap. Guess it does. Its pretty hard to discern reality from society-induced facades nowadays. Do you need one? Think about it. Disconnect yourself from the perceptions of society. For once. And look to your inner-self for an answer. Do NOT. Ask. Anyone. Its a self-evaluation exercise.

Finally, the Cute Girl of the Day Column!

Location: Bukit Panjang Plaza Bowling Alley.
What she was doing: Person attending to the people, at the counter.

This was a pretty unique girl. Firstly, she’s Malay. Its pretty rare that I find a Malay girl pretty cute. Not that I’m insuniuating that Malay girls suck in the looks department, but honestly, I’m not sure why I don’t prefer Malay girls. Inherent Genes? Perception? Well, I really don’t know. Their ‘Minah’-ness? (A behavorial template for Malay girls, isn’t actually very flattering term). Maybe. Whatever it was, she wasn’t a ‘Minah’ (as far as I could tell), so I guess that explains it. So yeah, she was pretty cute. Rating? 7.2/10.

A’right. Thats all folks. Till next time. Goodbye and goooooodnight!
